I used it to introduce pets and to make Ss use the english language to interact with the puppet.&lt;br&gt;
They simply loved it.&lt;br&gt;
it also served to demonstrate some of the action verbs we had been learning such as run, jump, walk, dance, etc.&lt;br&gt;
Ss would ask "can you run?" and i would make fluffy run, etc&lt;br&gt;

They had to build a picture dictionary during the year with all the words learnt. It was their responsibility to update the picture dictionaries every now and then. Sometimes this was made during lesson time, but they were also encouraged to do it at home, by themselves.&lt;br&gt;

After a week or so, It's "feed the monster" time! We check the words on Martin's mouth and if students know what the words mean and how to pronounce them, the word goes to Martin's tummy, if not it stays on his mouth until they know the meaning of the words. At the end of a topic we empty Martin's tummy not to give him a stomachache!!!!!&lt;/p&gt;
